Online Skill Game Provider SkillJam Cuts Deal with Certus
26 March 2005
SkillJam Technologies Corporation, a provider of online skill-games played for cash, signed a licensing agreement with game developer Certus A/S to use Certus brand games on the SkillJam network. Through its agreement with Certus, SkillJam widens its 80-game strong playing options to include multiplayer card games, such as Hearts, Whist, Spades, Thirty-One and Euchre as well as board games, including Backgammon, Battleship, Checkers, Chess and Reversi (Othello). The addition of these new games marks SkillJam's attempt to hit the European online skill gaming market, which is expected to take off in the coming years.
SkillJam's additions are based on Certus' proprietary technology, "SYMFONI". When Certus started out in 1998, it offered a meager three games. Since then, the company has developed its game suite to include 30 Java games for internet play and nine more for mobile phones. SkillJam's games are played by over 7 million users.
SkillJam is a subsidiary of FUN Technologies plc (formerly "CES Software plc"), a gaming technology provider, specializing in P2P skill games, exchange-betting and online sports information.
