eCOGRA Report Boasts Speedy Advocacy Service
13 April 2005
According to a report compiled by Tex Rees, eCOGRA's Fair Gaming Advocate, a relatively low number of complaints were lodged against online casinos and gambling sites in the first quarter of 2005. During this period, a total of 72 online complaints were filed, 24 of which concerned online casinos not bearing the eCOGRA seal of approval. Of the registered complaints, seven were resolved to benefit the player. Complaints were resolved within an average of less than 72 hours.
eCOGRA is one of only two organizations in the online gaming industry that officially provides advocacy services of this kind. The other is Montana Disputes, which settles conflicts for Real Time Gaming (RTG)-powered online casinos. Before enlisting Montana to settle complaints, RTG stuck to a non-interventionist policy regarding player disputes. Although eCOGRA's dispute resolutions are known to be speedy, conflicts referred to Montana Disputes can wait weeks before being resolved.
