Casino Surveillance Cameras Survey more than Games
27 April 2005
Caesars Atlantic City Casino can’t seem to find reliable surveillance camera operators. In December, the casino was fined $80,000 for incidents in which camera operators used their hidden cameras, meant to prevent cheating and theft in the casino, to ogle women.
Once again, camera operators are accused of using their photography equipment to violate women’s privacy.
Caesars Entertainment spokesman, Robert Stewart assures that the issue is being taken seriously and proper measures would be taken against employees who behaved inappropriately. Nonetheless, a 2001 case questions the casino’s true view on voyeurism. In the 2001 case, two female employees claimed that they were fired after complaining about similar misuse of cameras. The complaint was settled, with Caesars paying a $95,000 settlement.
