Online Casino Operator Gaming Transactions Opens Online Sportsbook
3 May 2005
Gaming Transactions, a Canadian online casino management company, has recently launched the trial version of a new online sportsbook, kenobook.com. Kenobook is the company’s second online betting site, and will offer a variety of options for sports betting. Players will be able to bet on different types of sports from around the USA, and will be able to place a number of different types of bets, such as straight bet, over/under, teasers, and parlay.
With an estimated earning potential of $8 billion, the sportsbook industry is considered a prime market. Internet sportsbook sites are becoming increasingly popular, and are capturing significant market segments.
Gaming Transactions will also build a second online sportsbook site with FutureBet Systems, using the FutureBet brand, giving customers standard Las Vegas sports odds.
Gaming Transactions, operators of the online casino site keno.com, are offering the new betting site in the hopes of attracting a different demographic from other online gambling sites, as explained by Patrick Smyth, CEO, “Although men still dominate the gaming world, the majority of mainstream online game players are women. Over 55% of all activity on the five largest game sites for the month of August 2004 was by women. However, the Keno demographic is skewed towards males aged 25 to 45 years, with some college education. This provides the Company with the potential for increasing product offerings as our player database will have a greater proportion of males than other gaming sites. And following that logic, the Company believes that it will be able to convert a good proportion of its players into sports punters at Kenobook.com."
