Ladbrokes Implements Nimsoft’s Management Software
4 May 2005
The world’s largest bookmaker, Ladbrokes, announced that it will be working with Nimsoft’s NimBUS software for real-time reporting and monitoring of its databases, applications, and servers. When Ladbrokes chose to replace its previous enterprise management software, the company evaluated all relevant competitors, and narrowed the field to HP, Microsoft, BMC software, and NimSoft’s NimBUS. Extensive testing showed the NimBUS program to be more easily scalable, more functional, and show an overall better return on investment.
With its unique service level system (SLAs), NimBUS can verify service compliance through a system which defines the service level agreements, monitors, and produces reports.
Ladbrokes Office Systems Manager, Paul Thompson, highlighted the importance of the system, "As the market leader in the UK betting industry and the best-known brand in the global eGaming market, Ladbrokes works hard to continuously deliver innovative value and services to our customers. During our extensive research and onsite trials, we quickly realised that NimBUS adhered to all of our strict functionality requirements, including scalability, ease-of-use, and cross platform reach. All in all, we found that NimBUS is a fantastic solution also because of its built-in intelligence for service level management which is a key IT contribution to the continued success of our business."
Open 24/7, Ladbrokes has almost 2000 betting shops, which serve over 600,000 customers from 160 countries. The new software will allow Ladbrokes to monitor application problems more efficiently, meaning that there will be minimal down time.
Gary Read, President of Nimsoft, explained. "Through NimBUS' embedded service level management capabilities, Ladbrokes can leverage service views to proactively monitor performance and availability against defined SLAs, for an additional competitive advantage."
