Online Casino Looks for Ad Agency for “Brand Response” Campaign
11 June 2005
888.com, a London-based online gambling company, says it has launched a review of its 30 million dollar offline ad campaign. The US marketing manager, Jason Gasaway, said he is looking for a creative and small ad agency to advertise the online casino site. The company has been in contact with two advertising agencies, but neither deal panned out.
Gasaway said that 888.com is having difficulty, because many advertisers will not work with online casinos. Many believe that based on the 1961 Wire Act, advertising online casinos is illegal in the U.S., although many online casinos get around the law by advertising sister .net sites which are exclusively play-for-free.
