Groundbreaking for Lake to Hold Emmetsburg, Iowa’s Newest Riverboat Casino

About a month ago, Iowa approved casino plans for Riverside, Worth County, Waterloo, and Emmetsburg.

Wild Rose Entertainment LLC broke ground for the $35.4 million Emmetsburg casino on Friday. Since the casino is intended to be a riverboat casino, the first stage will consist of digging a 10-acre lake.

The casino will have a 65-room hotel, an Irish pub, and a health club. The casino and hotel are expected to generate 250 jobs in the northwestern Iowa town of 4,000.
