eCOGRA Gives Worldwide Online Casinos Responsible Gaming Guidance

A seminar that was organized by the independent self-regulator eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation Assurance (eCOGRA) was held last week in Cape Town, South Africa. The conference was attended by management delegates from online casinos all over the world, and dealt with the issue of problem gambling. This course corresponded with the new responsible gaming requirements that were recently approved by the board of eCOGRA.
This program is the first in the industry that involves a collective group of online casinos, and was especially designed in order to provide eCOGRA seal-bearing casino mangers information on the new regulations. as the seminar also aided online casinos in setting up policies and training programs that include the new safety precautions contained within the eGAP requirements. The course was held by Swedish psychologist/researcher Thomas Nilsson together with G4 executive Pieter Remmers and senior trainer Rob d’Hont. The program included professional training on how to prevent underage gambling, the psychology behind problem gambling, and ways of identifying compulsive gamblers. Forty delegates of general management, support audit, and marketing disciplines for fifty five seal bearing online casinos attended this major event.
eCOGRA’s policies have been devised in cooperation with the G4 (Global Gambling Guidance Group) organization. These policies provide standards and options that assist in dealing with problem gambling,
eCOGRA CEO Andrew Beveridge stated that responsible gaming is vital for any online gaming operation, and that is of utmost importance to set high standards of player protection. It is important to join eCOGRA and show commitment to the organization in order to be professional and responsible in everyday operations.
