Orange Rubber Bands to Be Worn in Casinos to Encourage Gambling Awareness
30 July 2005
The American Gaming Association (AGA) aims to increase awareness of responsible gambling, and has therefore come up with a new campaign that will be launched at casinos nationwide starting in August.
The campaign is plain and simple. As of next week, any gambler visiting the participating casinos will notice that casino employees will be wearing orange rubber bands that are part of the campaign. In addition to these bands, orange ribbons and buttons will also be worn displaying the message, "We're banding together to keep it fun."
This campaign is not only about increasing awareness of problem gambling in casinos, but is also serves as a fundraiser, with all rubber bands being sold at $1 each, and proceeds going to the National Center for Responsible gaming.
