Atlantic City Casinos Report Increase in Winnings during July
12 August 2005
The New Jersey Casino Control Commission announced that Atlantic City Casinos' winnings added up to $504.8 million dollars in the month of July of this year. These Atlantic City casinos increased their winnings by six and a half percent, compared to July 2004.
The increase in winnings can in part be attributed to a 5.3 percent rise in slot machine revenues, totaling $376.1 million, at Atlantic City's 12 casinos, as well as an increase of 10.2 percent in table game revenues, adding up to 128.7 million, in total. The casino that most contributed to this increase was the Tropicana Resort, reporting a 31 percent increase, followed by Boyd Gaming Corp. and MGM Mirage Inc., which experienced 19.3 percent increases.
