Possibility Of Downtown Casino Raises Mixed Reactions in Brandon, Manitoba

Even though most residents living in Brandon, Manitoba feel that serious efforts need to be made in order to attract more people to downtown areas, mixed reactions have risen with regards to the possibility of a casino on 10th Street.
It was reported that John Laurence, a downtown developer, plans to give the downtown area of Brandon a face lift. He will be working alongside Five First Nations bands to transform the East side of 10th Street's 100 block into a hotel and casino four-stories high.
Residents of Brandon have had many different reactions with regards to the possibility of this casino and hotel. Some feel that a casino in the area would be positive and bring in more visitors, while others are against the idea, seeing a casino as an unnecessary peril.
