Casino Robber Flees Leaving Money Behind and One Wounded
11 January 2006
A security guard at the Gold Coast casino in Las Vegas was shot in the leg by an armed robber this week. Apparently, the robber fled the casino, firing a number of shots, and, at the same time, dropping the money he had stolen. During the heist, the robber pointed a gun at a female casino clerk in a cashier cage, demanding money. The clerk was not injured.
The casino's security guard was rushed to the hospital, where it was reported that he had undergone surgery. It has not been made clear if the casino guard was armed, but sources have revealed that he did not shoot back at the robber.
Casino security surveillance tapes indicate that the robber was a twenty-something black man wearing a wig under a cap, a coat, and a white T-shirt.
