Foreigner-Only Casino to Open in South Korea
26 January 2006
South Korea will open a casino just for foreigners tomorrow in southern Seoul, with the aim of luring more tourists from other countries. This foreigner-only casino, called “Seven Luck,” is situated at Hanmoo Convention Center near COEX in Samsong-dong, southern Seoul. This location will allow visitors easy access to hotels, shops, and transportation.
The Seven Luck casino design has a traditional Korean feel to it, and will be open all year, 24-hours-a-day. There will be 130 slots games as well as 45 table games such as blackjack, baccarat, and roulette on the casino floor.
In the coming months, a further two foreigner-only casinos will be opened in South Korea, one at the Millennium Seoul Hilton in northern Seoul and one at Busan Lotte in the southeastern port city of Pusan. The machines at Seven Luck casino will be connected to machines in the other two future casinos in order to increase prize offerings.
All money from the Seven Luck casino will reportedly go to further establish the Korean culture and tourism industry infrastructure, as well as support inter-Korea tourism.
