6 February 2006
Shai Ben Yitzhak, 888 Holding plc co-founder and Random Logic CEO, has been quoted as saying that 888 Holdings, which operates the largest online casino site in the world, will be one of the few online casino companies to ultimately remain in existence.
In keeping with the above prediction, 888 is acting strategically to solidify its standing in the online gaming market. According to a reporter at “The Times,” 888 Holdings CEO John Anderson indicated that the online casino company planned to acquire an online sports betting site. Anderson was reported as saying that the online casino company would look toward Asian and not U.S markets with regards to sports betting pursuits. It was reported that, according to Anderson, the consolidation of the various facets of gaming will play a huge role in the online casino industry of tomorrow, and that 888 plans to be at the forefront of this consolidation process. The report also stated that Anderson downplayed the fact that rival PartyGaming claimed to have become the biggest Internet casino after it launched blackjack.
