Online Casino Advertisements Halted by Owner of NBA's Denver Nuggets
4 March 2006
The owner of the NBA's Denver Nuggets, Kroenke Sports Enterprises, has decided to stop advertising on a casino website due to concerns that it may be engaging in illegal activities. The company has decided to terminate its ads until it concludes talks with the Attorney General to determine what advertising methods are acceptable.
Online casino GoldenPalace.com's advertisements have been seen courtside during Nuggets games, and apparently this is illegal. Reportedly, the Attorney General said that online casino advertisements are persuasive and that people may not be aware that they are, in fact, illegal.
The decision to pull these Internet casino advertisements came after Denver's CBS television affiliate questioned how legal these ads were, and turned to the Attorney General for a ruling.
