UK Casinos Suffer from Dealer Shortage
11 March 2006
Nobody can deny the sharp rise in popularity of casino establishments in the UK. Casinos are swarmed with patrons, who try their luck at the bright and shiny game offerings day in and day out as they sip cocktails and champagne. Yet, not everything that shines is golden. Gala Casino spokesperson Maggie Smith reported that it's becoming increasingly hard to meet the demands of the ever-growing number of casino patrons due to a severe shortage in dealers.
It appears as though the Brits aren't interested in what many people consider to be a dream job. The hours are long for casino dealers, and young people prefer to hang out with their friends at night rather than work. The lack of croupiers is no new issue, as complaints about the state of affairs have been heard in the past. However, with government's plans for a super-casino and the rise in public interest, all casino-related notions are suddenly receiving more attention. We can only wait to see what happens.
