Several bystanders were recently affected by Capsicum spray when police officers broke up a violent fight outside a nightclub in Melbourne, Australia. Police were called to the 'Next Blue' nightclub, located in the Crown Casino complex, after two individuals started fighting inside the venue. After being evacuated by security personnel, the two men continued fighting outside the club.
Senior Constable Karla Dennis was reported as saying that Capsicum spray was used on the fighting men. The spray wafted back into the nightclub through the main entrance and affected approximately a dozen people inside. According to Dennis, the patrons' exposure to the spray was extremely light.
