Ex-Casino Employee Found Guilty of Child Molestation, May Face Life in Prison
6 April 2006
An ex-security manager, who was once employed by the Spa Resort and Casino in Palm Springs, Florida, was recently accused and convicted of the sexual abuse of his own stepdaughter. In addition, the teenager's mother was found guilty of taking part in the five-year-long molestation. A Riverside County Superior Court judge is scheduled to sentence the couple in the beginning of May.
Official court records reportedly demonstrated that the victim's parents started abusing her when she was only five years old. Local authorities were informed regarding the child's sexual molestation after the girl revealed her parents' wrongdoing to an assistant principal at her school several months ago. The girl no longer remains under her parents' custody.
The former casino employee, the victim's stepfather, was convicted of several felonies, the list of which includes grave offenses, such as child molestation and aggravated sexual assault of a minor. He could face a maximum sentence of spending the rest of his life in jail. The court charged his wife with one count of child molestation. She could face a 12-year-long incarceration period. Both parents' names have been prohibited for publication in order to protect the young victim.
