MGM Grand Detroit Casino's Permanent Structure to Carry $765 Million Price Tag

Officials of the MGM Grand Detroit Casino recently unveiled their new plans for the company's permanent gaming facility in the Michigan metropolis. According to the gaming company, MGM now intends to invest as much as $765 million in the planned casino complex. The 17-story facility is designed to create up to 1,000 new job positions. Currently, MGM Grand Detroit employs 2,500 individuals.
The future permanent casino facility will spread over 100,000 square feet. It will feature many diverse attractions, such as a hotel, restaurants, retail stores, and a spa. The gaming complex will combine modern elements like a golden glass hotel tower with an art deco façade on its main building.
MGM Grand spokesperson Bob Berg was reported as saying that MGM's recent decision to increase its investment in the casino complex by $190 million reflects the company's confidence that the region has enough potential to support it. Jamaine Dickens, a spokesman for Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, said that MGM's tremendous investment is exactly what the city needs in order to become a prominent travel destination.
