Australian Casino Denies Credit to PBL's Executive Chairman James Packer

James Packer, Australia's most prominent businessman and the executive chairman of PBL, recently walked out of Sydney's Star City Hotel and Casino after the gaming venue's management refused to extend a A$20,000 ($24,000) line of credit to his friend. Although the gambling mogul offered to guarantee the sum, the casino's officials denied Packer's request
Packer, who controls a growing gambling empire, and his unidentified friend arrived at the Star City casino and were admitted into the high-roller Endeavour Room. The two gamblers started playing the game of baccarat. After while, Packer's friend started losing heavily and asked for a line of credit to continue.
Nevertheless, the loan was rejected by the casino management. A spokesperson for the gaming venue was reported as saying that the the casino was prohibited by law to provide credit to its customers. According to an eyewitness, although the casino employees went out of their way to try and help, their efforts ultimately turned out as futile.
