Two Casino-goers Apprehended for Alleged Child Endangerment
7 July 2006
It was recently reported that two individuals were apprehended on suspicion of leaving two small children locked in a vehicle, while celebrating their gaming winnings at a casino in Palm Springs, California. Palm Springs police Sgt. Mitch Spike said that the Spa Resort Casino employees contacted authorities after they had found the two siblings inside a Volvo parked next to the casino.
Although the children were left a bottle of water, they were suffering from dehydration since they had been left in the car for over an hour in a very hot temperature. Authorities ultimately located the aforementioned couple, Tammy Sue Kleinow and Keith King, inside the casino celebrating the man's gambling winnings. Both Kleinow and King were reportedly drunk.
The two suspects told police that they were inside the casino for a very short period of time and that they regularly checked on the children. Nevertheless, the casino's surveillance video revealed that they left the gaming establishment only once. The couple was taken to the Palm Springs Jail for questioning and later released on bail.
